Momiji Bridge

Momiji (Japanese Maple) is very Japanese. Well, this is just my opinion, but it just seems like a very Japanese plant.

Anyways, last weekend I was surrounded by Momiji. The sign above says 'Momiji Bridge,' which is a bridge located near Lake Sayama.

It's called Momiji Bridge because there are so many Momiji trees growing around the bridge. The green Momiji are very pretty and delicate. But they will probably be even more beautiful in the fall when they turn red.

If you look closely you will see the Momiji design on the bridge. The green behind it is the real Momiji.

This is my first entry for Sunday Bridges hosted by Louis la Vache (San Francisco Bay Daily Photo). Click below for more lovely photos of bridges around the world!

I have one of the trees in my front yard. I waited years to get it and now it is my favorite.

Very beautiful! And I agree, it does seem like a very Japanese plant.

Some lovely bridge details! I always remember that the Japanese word for BRIDGE can mean "chopsticks" or "Bridge" depending on your intonation!

The bridge is beautiful, but it is totally eclipsed by the beauty of the trees!
