Floppy yellowish flowers with fruit that looks like a cross between figs and acorns.

I had a love affair with a certain evening sky in high school. I would imagine the sky an inverted South-Pacific ocean and the orange and brown clouds as islands in the brilliant blue sea. Such a contrast to where I actually was.

A few years later, camped in a state park north of Santa Barbara I wrote:

The longitudinal brushstrokes of the waves are painting a pale lavender, marbled web of foam on the fluorescent orange sea caressing the dark brown shore beaten smooth by the breakers in angrier times.

Above, the black silhouette shapes of the sea gulls puncture the sky in a strange undecipherable cuneiform as the sun ignites the spun-cotton clouds in brilliant flames which consume one and leap on after others not as yet consumed, leaping on after the sun, leaving only the moon and stars to illuminate the scorched sea and sky.Tall Garyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18130518604439054014noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1333594746644288770.post-63493637579344471832010-01-14T19:56:13.960+09:002010-01-14T19:56:13.960+09:00Who doesn't, Kaori?
