There is a bridge that leads to the intake tower at Yamaguchi Reservoir, also known as Lake Sayama.
The intake tower was built in 1934, the same year as the completion of the reservoir. It is said to be 35.2 meters tall, although you can only see 1/3 of it above water.
Would have loved to get a close up but only authorized people are allowed on the bridge. Darn.

That's a longgggg bridge - it would be cool to walk out there for the view!
This could possibly one of those bridges in Japan my friend was talking about.
Lovely to hear from you. Thanks for the visit.
hee hee...
You didn't "authorize" yourself?!
;-D
A unique contribution to Sunday Bridges!
I love the first shimmery shot. A very different type of bridge--but still a bridge. MB
I love the silvery light on the water!
Beautiful Kaori, lovely silver water too!
i can understand your zoom in concerns. ^0^ but the first pic is already breathtaking. ^-^
definitely a lovely bridge.
You present such interesting things in your blog! I've never heard of an intake tower (but I don't live near water either).
You have found a quite unusual bridge in a very interesting location. It's a pity you can't get any closer...
well, at least you don'thave random people spoiling the photo by walking on the bridge!
Wow, this is a long stretch of bridge! Nice shot!
What is the tower for?
that is really, really beautiful. I love the silver light on the water and tower.
Beautiful. Worth to be a poem written about. Please have a nice start into the new week.

It is great bridge.
it's a beautiful photo...so serene.
Lovely silver tones. The tower looks like a castle turret.
It is wonderful brightness and shadow...
Greetings.

Hi everyone! Thank you for all the comments! I'm really enjoying seeing everyone's bridge photo on Louis la Vache's Sunday Bridges :D
Ann, the tower has a pump that pulls the water out and it has a pipe along the bridge that takes the water to a pool nearby!
Very cool shot! I've never seen one of those before.
Amazing structures to think how deep they are below the surface.
yes..fabulous bridge!! regards
