Hakuin’s original koan was closer to: “Two hands clap and there is a sound. What is the sound of one hand?” A modern Japanese version might be: 「両手を打ち鳴らすと音がする.じゃあ.片手ではどんな音がするか?』
The last bit in the original, older, was along the lines of: 「隻手に声あり,その声を聞け」

Time for those winter woolies to come out of storage.
I had to enlarge to see the shoes. My kind of shoes - comfy, funtional.
It's been pretty warm here until yesterday, it looks like autumn is finally here too.
Great composition on the shot!
I've noticed the leaves changing colors too. Sad the year has passed so quickly.
Nice autumn pic , here it's the same and it becomes colder and colder ....:(
Still summer in South Florida.
Here too, it is quite cold and it has been raining since Sunday...
Lovely picture!
My senses long for autumn.
Please have a good Wednesday.

Delightful - changing colours, wood smoke in the air, glowing cheeks. Autumn!
Great shot in black and white.
I like this composition on this. I wish our air had a bite to it, it's still in the hundreds here! Ugh!
Kaori, I really like this photo! Can I buy it from you? For possible use on our website? I've been looking for a "boots on the ground" shot!
