This is a photo of Arahata Fujizuka, the man-made mountain. I was there again (previous post) in hopes to see Mt. Fuji from the top.
But although it was a great day and we could actually see it slightly with our eyes...my camera couldn't catch it. I really wished I could of shown how it was looming quietly above the trees.
Better luck next time...

We will pretend we saw it!
Nice try, Kaori!
I am going to imagine that I see it there!
Dear Kaori,
I have a non-photo related question: do you know if the book '告白' has been translated in English? I just saw the movie and I'm absolutely in awe with it.
Thank you.
lovely pic :)
I see it in my mind's eye. :)
Love the close up on those leaves too!
We'll be patiently waiting for your next try. I'm sure that will be successful!
If you come to New Zealand, we have a mountain just like mt Fuji.
I really love the perspective on that top photo. Great catch!
It's great that you saw it.
I'm sorry to hear that...
But at least you had fun climbing the man-made hill.
I love the lighting in the first shot! it has such a warm mood to it.
I hope you have better luck next time!
i think i can more or less envision what it looks like. ^0^
meanwhile, we'll be waiting for Mr. Fuji. soon!
Maybe a clear windy day would do it, Kaori... In the meantime maybe we will have to make do with something like this to get a gist...
@Kiki: I just did an Amazon search of the novelist who wrote “Confession.” Her name is Kanae Minato. I’m sorry to say there were no matches at Amazon. For a book in Japanese that was published in 2008 and became a hot movie in 2010 to come out in an English translation almost instantly is a rarity. Please keep checking her name (again, it is: Kanae Minato). I suspect there is a translation in progress. Let’s be patient.
I haven’t seen that movie (it is in my Netflix queue) but I really like the actress Takako Matsu (maybe ever since I saw her in “April Story” made in 1998. Not to mention ”Villon’s Wife”).
