Fooled Me

I thought this bridge was interesting because at first glance the sides look like a wall. But when you look at it from an angle, you can actually see through it.

Pretty cool, huh?

This is the pedestrian bridge that crosses over the road to Koku Park from Koku Koen Station. Today was such a great day that there were many people heading to the park.

«Louis» really likes the perspective you showed in the first image, Kaori - clever interpretation of the meme.

«Louis» thanks you for your contributions to the Sunday Bridges series.

Cool bridge. I thought it was a fence at first. Nice angle.

You say fooled, but it was a kind of surprise anyway. The fence allows some view on the road below, which could be interesting.

I wonder if the results would be similar to this if someone painted (or used colored tape on) a little bit of those posts. All of the pandas and fish are done with nothing more than horizontal stripes on the vertical posts. The designs become unrecognizable when you look at them straight on, like in your second photo where we can see through the “wall.”

(I found the photos here.)

I'm surprised the road has no cars on it!

How interesting that you could shoot the bridge to make it look like the railing was a solid wall.

What a joy to see and read close to four in the morning. Have to thank you for this much needed escape. As I've read Monday being a holiday over there, I'd like to wish you a wonderful and calm start into the new week.

Your photos made me realize that we have few (if any) strictly pedestrian bridges crossing highways. The car still reigns supreme.

The "Wall" is so high, stops people from jumping down?

Seems like the highway cuts through a nice area right there.
