Kotesashi Rikkyo

This Kotesashi Rikkyo crosses over the Seibu Ikebukuro Line, right next to Kotesashi Station. It's a very long bridge and some ot  the space underneath is used as a bicycle parking space.

There are also stairs that lead up to the bridge above, which has a sidewalk for pedestrians, too. You wouldn't be able to tell from above but the bridge is very green!

There's ample opportunity to see this bridge from all angles!

Nice photos. The first one is my favorite.

It is very green but it's a nice modern colour. It's very quiet - where is everyone?

Hope you are having a nice weekend, Evelyn

it's great that the space under is utilized as parking, and the stairs make it easier for pedestrians. i wish our bridges here are as well-planned like this one.

Kotesashi: that rings a bell. You once showed us that only about 7 minutes away from this photo is an apartment advertised here.

The way the stairs flair out at the bottom makes me think of Michelangelo’s design at the Laurentian Library. Tokorozawa is in good company, huh?

Interesting design.

In Chinese, that first character in the top photo is "small"... is it the same in Japanese? Smart to use the bridge to protect the bikes. Happy Sunday Bridges, Kaori!

What a great use of space with the bicycle parking underneath.

I like 'walkable' bridges and this one is so neat, even with the place for the bikes...

So the white bars under the bridge are for parking your bike? That's a pretty neat idea!

I've been few weeks away and it's nice to find you here =)

Love the third! Amazing composition, well balanced and managed.

Excellent use of the space. As Evelyn asked, "where is everyone?"

Hi everyone, thank you for all the comments! Hope you all enjoyed Sunday Bridges hosted by Louis :D

Evelyn, Louis, the road is a dead end so unless someone wanted to cross the bridge or get their bike, not very many people would walk here. It was also a three-day weekend so I think a lot people were out of town :D

Tall Gary, yes you're right. That apartment would be somewhere around here ;D

Francisca, yes the first kanji is "small" in Japanese, too! The other two are "hand" and "fingers," would that be the same in Chinese also? I think it's cool how we can communicate in letters even if we don't understand the language :D

Lisergic Synaesthesiae, it's nice to have you back! :D

Kaori, I don't recognize the other characters, but I'll have my sweetie look at them when he gets back from his work trip next week. :-)
