Stand or Walk

Standing on the escalator at Shin Tokorozawa Station.

Here in the kanto area, everyone stands on the left and climbs the escalator on the right. This is the opposite in the kansai area. In more regional towns, they just sort of stand. Now that I think about it, that's probably how we're suppose to ride it.

Anyways, I usually climb the escalator because I'm not patient enough to wait. Plus you get the teeniest bit of exercise.

What about you? Do you stand or do you walk?

Cute shoes! Cute "pom-poms" on your toes!
Here, everyone stands on the right - hate it when people don't let me pass . . .

I usually stand on the right, but Italians are quite creative in obstructing your way...

thank you for the info on how you all use the escalator! it's fun to see all the cultural differences. And thank you for the lovely comments about my shoes, they're my favorite this month ;D

Thanks Babzy! I try taking the stairs too. But sometimes at the end of a long day, all you want to do is stand there ;D
