Reflections

This is the acquarium outside of the restaurant, Tora-fugu Tei, which specializes in Tiger Pufferfish dishes. You can see the buildings on the other side of the street reflecting off the glass!

Although the pufferfish is known to be poisonous, it can be edible when prepared properly, and is a very popular cuisine here in Japan. I don't eat fish so I just watch them swim around from the street.

Have you ever seen a pufferfish before? They actually have a very cute face!

I like some seafood, but I wouldn't go near the pufferfish!

Beautiful photos. I love watching fish swim; even soon to be doomed ones. The lighting is gorgeous in the bottom photo.

Pufferfish are not the only things that can be dangerous if mishandled. I can see a signboard for the Tiara Host Club across the street. And a tattoo studio just a little down from that. Was there supposed to have been a kabuki theater in Tokorozawa at one time like that area of Shinjuku? Ha ha.

Nice photo for the Reflections theme, Kaori.

I've only had less exotic fish. Really interesting and fun post for TD.

A very good idea for this Theme Day. I don't eat fish either but I'm glad that someone like these poisonous fishes.

The most amazing thing about this post is the revelation that you don't eat fish. In Japan? Must be Kobe beef for you.

Neat fish! I've never seen one before. I also like that you can see the tank from the street - clever idea.

They do look nice. My father travelled to Japan very often before he retired and had some several times.

Hi everyone! Thank you for the comments ;-D

Pufferfish is definately not your regular seafood. But I hear it's pretty delicious, if you're a fish-eater!

Tall Gary, a kabuki theater? Really? ;-D
