Apartment Hunting

I liked this sign in front of a real estate agency. They've drawn out the apartment building and the room layout to show its appeal.

Besides the rent and common area charge, we usually pay a security deposit (Shikikin 敷金) and key money (Reikin 礼金) when renting an apartment. An average 1K (one room + kitchen) unit costs about 55,000yen/month in Tokorozawa. This is very cheap compared to Tokyo, where the rent is much more expensive for an even smaller unit.

That's a very clear reflection, Kaori! And yes, what a unique way to show you how they will fleece you for your rent. :-D

[The geese in my post are soon to be served as the famous - and super delicious - Cantonese barbecued goose/duck. Quite different from the Beijing roast duck, Kaori, and my personal preference, although they are both yummy. I could not belieeeeve I did not have a decent shot of BBQ goose in my archives! :-)

That is an interesting way to advertise an apartment. Your photo with the reflection is very nice.

An unusual (for us) and honest (even more unusual for us) to advertise an apartment. And a nice picture either!

Lovely! How did you find it?

How very interesting indeed. Surely able to "shrink" life to its real, important size, living within one room. Same forms of payment over here and back home in Germany as well.
Great, great picture ! Please have a good Sunday.

Nice reflection and interesting information! And good idea for advertising - drawing the layout on the sign.

This is a fabulous reflection, Kaori!

55,000yen? I need to check the conversion. :)

Just checked the conversion and it would be an extremely reasonable price for Toronto!
