Roof Tops

Tokorozawa is very much a residential area.

Some new residential areas are very spacious, but many of the older residential areas like this are packed with houses, local shops, and other small scale buildings.

Most of the streets don't have sidewalks so drivers need to be careful when they drive. Japan has so many twists and turns, not to mention how narrow the streets are, that I think we have some of the best drivers in the world!

Love the blue hue of this image. You are lucky with your drivers because you won't survive much with Italian ones: probably not the worst, but trying hard...

Neat to see the layout. We don't expect people to be walking in the street in the U.S. so that would just be bad for everyone involved :)

Wow! The houses really are packed in here. I'm pretty sure I'd walk, ride a bike or let someone else drive if I were there. :)

Reminding me of my favourite movies, where ghosts were running across roof tops - how very nice to see that there aren't too many high buildings, so the sun can indeed reach down to the ground.
