Golf Green

This is the Seibu-en Golf Course.

Golf is all the rage here in Japan these days. I don't play golf because if I can't hit a tennis ball with a racket that big, I doubt I'm going to be able to swing a thin club and hit a teeny tiny white ball. On top of that, I'm liable to end up hitting someone at some point during the swing and I'm not looking to get sued.

So I stay away from golf. But I do love the golf course with the nicely trimmed grass...we rarely see this much grass in the same place around here.

This looks nice and green. I don't like golf but I do like golf courses.

I subscribe your comment about golf and tennis. Anyway golf courses tend to be really beautiful places. This one is a dream!

I thought I wouldn't be very good either. But I took a class and have been hooked since. Mostly I like walking around the courses though.

«Louis» could write about himself what you wrote about not being able to hit the golf or tennis ball!

I'm a tennis nut. Can't see myself ever switching to golf. But like everyone today, I do like to see the courses.

[I saw the face on the ruan too. ;-)]

For all the grief golf gets, the courses do provide a lot of greenspace that otherwise might be built on.

Don't sell yourself short on golf. It's a lot of fun and not as hard as you think. But please, don't walk the course while others are playing. It can be dangerous as those who are playing might not see you.

I never was a fan of golf, but I do like the courses. Nice shot!

Oooh, that's pretty!

What a beautiful place for a picnic, but it might be too much avoiding both ants and flying golf balls.

I wonder if you could improve your golf swing with a little research.

This beautiful knoll seems wasted on a tiny dimpled ball. (I tried it once, and am pretty sure I went straight from amateur to professional and threw the club.)

Thank you all for the comments! Golf is definately not my sport...but I'll let you know if I ever decide to take it up ;-D

Halcyon, yes you're right! I only gaze into the course from behind the fence :D

Tall Gary, maybe I'll stop by Book-off and see if they have that ;-D

AltadenaHiker, you're telling me! Would love to just lay around with a good book :-D

Chûsonji Yûko’s golf-busting Oyagi Gyaru were all the rage not long ago (to me it is “not long ago.” To anyone else it might seem as long ago as the pre-Jômon period). If you can’t find anything at BookOff you might try visiting some out-of-the-way archeological digs.
