This is a lovely shot from an unusual angle.
Our woods are full of sweet chestnut trees and the nuts are falling all the time.

I've never seen one on the tree before!

Now we just need to roast them on an open fire!

Cool! They are similar, yet different from the horse chestnuts that grow around here sometimes!

Ah, this photograph made me think of when I was younger and my grandmother would roast chestnuts. Nice composotion. =)

A very good close-up, here this is the season for a typical cake made with chestnut flour and raisins, called 'castagnaccio' (more or less: bad chestnut). It is awesome!

I was inspired by VP’s kind recipe link to search for chestnut flour and found this book titled: The Chestnut Cook Book: Recipes, Folklore and Practical Information. (Also available at Amazon in Japan).

You have given us a photo that is food for the eyes. It would be great if we could return the favor by helping to give you, well, delicious food!
