Sudden Rain

It's been raining a lot lately. And there are many people waiting for someone to come pick them up at the station exit, like she is.

But then there are others, like me, who walk home in the rain with their umbrellas. Because at times, I like getting all wet and rained on!

I like walking in the rain too, unless there is lightning involved!

It's raining here in Tianjin. But it made me feel nostalgic..

Great shot, though.

I like to walk under the rain, but mostly in the warmer seasons.

Being pattered on by splattering, dripping raindrops can be like a multi-sensory opera for just ourselves: The plinks, plunks, and rat-a-tat of virtuoso rainy fingers playing the space around us with never a note off key. The shlushing of passing car tires crescendo as they near us, then diminuendo as they softly pass. Liquid streets becoming neon fantasias of serpentine reflected light. An opera that plays not only to our eyes and ears but also to the touch on our skin and hair; an opera we are as much performing in as being performed for. Our footsteps carrying us where we will, splashing, jumping, walking into it, within it, and finally, getting out of it and into the safe haven of our home where we glance into the mirror (and see a reflection of yesterday’s posting? I hope not).

I like this shot, it's got so much city feeling.

When it's raining here, it's almost always torrential rain from a thunderstorm, so people usually wait 15 or 30 minutes for it to end. Otherwise you can be taking your life in your hands (somebody was struck by lightning in the parking lot of my office a few years ago).

I enjoy watching the rain from time to time, but mainly from a nice warm window during cold days. =)

I like this in b&w. I prefer walking in the rain too...as long as it's not too cold outside!

I remember when I was a kid, I played in the rain, getting soaked was a good feeling. It was fun! My mom's soup is waiting!

It's been raining a lot here too. In fact we just survived a typhoon, typhoon Juan. I think its international code name is Megi. Keep safe Kaori!

Hah! I just came back from a walk in the rain! No umbrella. But here it's hot and humid, and I wear a sleeveless cotton top. How about there, warm, cool?
