History Walk

This is part of the wall surrounding the construction site of the Ever Sky Tower, one of the Kotesashi Towers (there are two being built).

I don't know about construction sites in other countries, but here in Japan the construction company usually decorates the outer side of the wall. Some draw trees or flowers and sometimes they show old pictures of the area and have information about the history of the area.

Around the Ever Sky Tower, there are pictures and dates of events related to Kotesashi Station. It was fun seeing old pictures and leaning about how the station came about.

(1970 - Kotesashi Station Opens)

(1977 - The 2000 Type Train is Introduced on the Seibu Line)

(1976 - Construction of Kotesashi Heights Starts)

How wonderful! No, in our area they usually just put up a chain link fence.

Yes, they increasingly do that here too but not so nicely. Mostly ads.

What a wonderful idea. We too have mostly ads if anything at all.

Amazing how the station, when it first opened in 1970, was about the same size as any one of the hundreds of condominium units (374?) going up in front of it now.

It looks like you will have another bridge to photograph in front of Kotesashi Station’s North Rotary.

So, have you decided which “mansion” you will live in with your family? I like D-70Ca because of the six-mat room. The light must be fabulous in E-80C.

The bathtubs looked a little shallow to me. I hope that is because they are so big.

It would be nice to have an underground passage or shopping mall from the station to the towers—to avoid that pesky precipitation on rainy days.

The architect, Jun Mitsui, has done some interesting things.

What a role model ! Impressive and beautiful a sight ! Over here there' s mostly graffiti and advertisment posters at such walls.

Thank you for this escape into beauty and peace. Please have a good Thursday.

Looks much more interesting than the blue plywood fences that have "post no bills" spray painted on them around here. Nice shots!

I with the construction companies would do the same here in Oregon. I much rather look at colorful panels and read something interesting than a old, recycled fences they use.

That is a wonderful idea and very interesting too! I wish they did that here.

Geez. Even in 1977 the train system there looked more advanced then our 100+ year old L train here in Chicago. haha
