Overhead

We're all getting used to the sight of this crane looming above the station these days. I'm quite fond of construction sites, especially when they use cranes and other unbelievably huge machinery.

I didn't get a picture...but during the holidays this crane was actually lit up with Christmas lights. I thought it was hilarious for some reason and it gave me a reason to smile every time I walked toward the station!

Thanks to your January 1st post we know what that guy is doing there. And for how many (two) more years he might stay.

I imagine it as having been a kind of cerise and aqua neon splendor. Just the perfect bait to have lured a gift-toting Santa Claus. Especially if he were a bit tipsy.

Frankly, I'm more interested in taking a train ride somewhere than construction. Can't we take a train into Tokyo and then a Shinkansen somewhere??

You've inspired «Louis» to try to get some photos of the huge construction cranes working on the replacement span of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge.

;-D

Not too far from our house, they have been building a highway overpass, and I've been meaning to go to the site and take photos. Like you, the big machinery fascinates me. A few months ago, a typhoon managed to knock over this monstrous crane... I just couldn't believe it. But sigh... the overpass will soon be done, and I have no photos... :-D

I like big cranes and this one it's huge, even for a construction site.

The color sure makes it stick out ever more. Makes me wonder what it looked like with the lights.

I like the light in these photos. I also like seeing the lettering, I wouldn't know what that store sells, but it's neat to see the Japanese names on them.

I'm fascinated with building sites and getting interesting pictures from construction. Sometimes a little difficult to get close though.

Excellent I like when people like to express feelings like you, thanks for taking that photo because it shows us what you were feeling in that moment.
