Poor Fellow

This cute bird is perched on top of a steel bollard at the entrance of a park next to Kita Akitsu Preschool. I think it may be a sparrow, which we call 'Suzume (soo-zoo-meh)' in Japanese.

There were four birds in all but I noticed that one had a band-aid on its stomach. I wonder how it was hurt and who was kind enough to aid the poor sparrow.

That band-aid is really funny.

Should we take it to a veterinarian or metal foundry?

My first thought is that someone took a wooden mallet to the poor thing mistaking it for an eating-drinking izakaya called Suzume no Oyado where, more often then than now, wait staff were summoned by whacking a wooden plaque you might be able to see above the table here.

Not too many tightrope walkers and trapeze artists are going to hone their skills on that bollard with all those sparrows.

Nice catch, he got company anyway...
I saw a lot of band-aids trying to keep together a crack in the wall, somewhere. Maybe it's some kind of statement...

haha, that band-aid looks so plain, i wonder why not choose the checkered ones, they'd look more adorable. ^0^
