Tully's Coffee

This is the only Tully's Coffee in Tokorozawa. I was there this weekend and had a cup of Honey Milk Latte. I also love their English Toffee Cookie.

Tully's first coffee shop in Japan opened August 1997 in Ginza. Our Tully's opened inside Daiei, our local supermarket, when they renovated the building in 2008.

Although we have a Starbucks closer to the station, a lot of people go to Daiei to shop so it's always full of people. They have seats outside that are popular in the summer. Tully's also has a Kid's Menu, which gives the whole family a chance to enjoy a little break from shopping.

Ooh. I love sidewalk cafés. This would be a great place to hang out as the weather gets warmer. By the way, do you have any summer beer gardens in Tokorozawa?

My eye got distracted by the rice-bowl and udon noodle shop across the street and its unusual name—Nakau. It seems the name comes from a combination of the company president’s name (Nakano) and the character “U” for both udon and 卯 meaning “rabbit” in hopes that the success of the company would multiply by leaps and bounds. I think they might be in trouble if they have a competitor shop called “Hoshoku” as in 捕食動物 (predator).

A nice place, we have plenty of coffee shops, but we are the only country in the world without Starbucks...

I prefer individual coffee shop, like the great Italian and not the big chains.Small and pretty shops with elegant decoration and beautiful atmosphere.
Have a nice day.

Honey Milk Latte sounds absolutely delicious. No Tully's in Salem. I'll have to drive an hour to Portland to try it.

I like their name! Tully was my great grandfather's first name, so it makes me think of him.

Leif, Honto ni oishi yo :D

Tall Gary, we have a huge beer garden at the Seibu Amusement Park during the summer! They also have fireworks :) Nakau is popular among business men and high school kids because everything is so cheap and the store is open 24/7.

VP, What! No starbucks? I heard they actually have a starbucks in Tibet...so I assumed they were everywhere. But then, Italians have such good taste in real coffee, they probably can't stand starbucks ;D

Kostas, We actually have a couple of local coffee shops in Tokorozawa that are very good! I'll have to post about them sometime :)

Arabesque, The fact that you can actually write Muzukashi is amazing! When I first came back I could barely write my own name in Kanji, haha. Your japanese is amazing :D

Gogouci, It seems there are a couple of Tully's in Portland! I love their Honey Mild Latte :)

Lois, What a coincidence! Now that you mention it, Tully does sound a bit southern ;)
