Language of Flowers

In floriography, this pink camellia means 'Luxury' and 'Fashionable.' The camellia flower itself also means 'Perfect Enchantment' and 'Pride.'

I wonder who decides what is what. The camellia is more like 'Sweet Sign of Spring' for me. What do you think?

I love simplicity over pomposity, so I'm happy to agree with you! Wonderful flower anyway...

I'm trying to reach through my computer screen to cut the fresh flower to put in a bud vase for my wife ...
It isn't working!

Fabulous textures and beautifully pink blossom. Definitely a great time of the year for photographers.

I had no idea that floriography was so extensive a language. Have you thought of running a flower shop or nursery, Kaori?

I may have bruised my knuckles, using them to emulate Leif Hagen as far as the attempt to reach out. You do have a way with flowers.

It’s hard for me to think of camellias as spring flowers, having seen so many of them in these conditions, but yours does indeed whisper across the Pacific Ocean in soft warming breezes: 'Sweet Sign of Spring'.

Thank you for all the comments!

Leif, you're going to have to try harder than that ;D

Tall Gary, I'm much to impatient to take care of plants from the start! ;) You're right, camellias do start blooming in the winter, but since we rarely have snow in Tokyo, it just seems like the start of spring :D
